Natural Skin Cleansing Means Healthy, Great Looking Skin

by Kathleen P. Walsh

There are a lot of skin cleansing products out there which are completely ineffective and many others which are actually doing more harm than good! There are cleansing skin care procedures which wont speed along the aging process and keep your skin looking great. Keep reading to see a safe and gentle way to care for your skin.

Remember, effective skin cleansing actually starts in the shower, so it pays to remember that many modern soaps and shampoos contain potentially harmful chemicals. Likewise, the vast majority of municipal water coming out of our taps is polluted with a number of toxins and impurities which are under no circumstances good for your skin.

Of course, without the help of costly water filtration systems, its virtually impossible to avoid all of these undesirable toxins, but having said that, you can remove a large percentage of them simply by using a good quality shower head filter. Additionally, all those ever-popular anti-bacterial skin cleansing products also need to be avoided.

Furthermore, and contrary to what you may believe, cleansing skin care products which are marketed as being anti-bacterial should also be avoided due to them containing Triclosan, which is in most cases, the active ingredient. This ingredient does you no good at all and in fact, its also damaging to the environment. The bottom line is, a natural antibiotic such as Manuka Honey is far safer.

Likewise, those who are serious with regards to cleansing skin care should remove all products from the home which contain petrochemicals, artificial fragrances or parabens. Instead, rather opt for natural products such as orange oil, tee tree oil or manuka honey

Youve more than likely heard that exfoliating cleansing products work wonders but the truth is they dont. Instead, these products irritate the skin, thus causing the skin to sag and age prematurely.

Of course, those suffering from excessively oily skin are also advised to include the use of masks into their regular cleansing skin care routine, even if only once each week. Here again, masks containing natural products such as manuka honey, shea butter, keratin and natural clay are best.

Some masks actually clog pores more than they clean them and you need to scrub your skin to the point of irritation to get them off. Enter macadamia oil and shea butter; these ingredients keep your mask from drying out so that it can be removed without damaging your skin.
